The materials in this section were created over fifteen years ago for a course in business correspondence.

At that time pagers were the leading edge of communication technology, computer literacy had not been introduced as a required subject in Japanese high schools, and most university students had no computing or keyboarding skills.

The business correspondence course was taught in a computer lab equipped with CRT monitors and computers running Windows 98. A basic email client called WIN/YAT provided Japanese-language support.

The following web pages were formatted using HTML 4.01 Transitional and the earliest version of CSS. Tables were used for positioning, a practice now deprecated. The original coding has, however, been preserved for archival purposes.
