General Notices
- In order to help maintain computers, network wiring and other resources in good conditions, no eating or drinking is allowed inside this computer-installed classroom.
- You should not bring in drinks in opened containers. If you do have such opened containers, go outside and put them in proper receptacles.
- Drinks in PET bottles are permitted but be careful not to spill.
- Place your umbrellas, especially when wet, in proper holders in the classroom or in the hallway.
- Consult your handbook for other important notices.
Class Policy
- Classes begin on time. If you come late, you are going to disturb other students. For this reason, you will be penalized for a late arrival and you may have additional difficulty in catching up. It is advisable that you arrive at least five minutes in advance.
- Absense from class would not affect your grades seriously if it does not exceed once in a semester, but repeated and / or consecutive absense may result in failure. Also, repeated late arrivals may adversely affect your grade or possibility for obtaining credit.
- If you are absent from a session, you should submit your homework the next time. However, submitting homework does not suffice to completely make up for your absense.
- No term-final exam will be given for this class. Grades are given based on your attendance, participation, contribution and other factors. Attendance does not mean just being physically present in the classroom. You have to participate seriously in the activities and do your best in assignments.
- In this class, we mainly engage ourselves in the following activities during class and as homework.
- continued extensive reading
- oral response practices and essay writing
- peer review and evaluation of your essays
- video jam and informal information exchanges
