Call for Papers

MAPLL2016 invites submissions for paper (oral) or poster presentations in any aspects of processing and learning of human languages. Studies from a wide range of perspectives will be considered including, but not exclusive to, those focusing on behavioral, neural, corpus data of adults, children, native, and L2 speakers.


Paper (oral) presentations are scheduled to be 20 minutes long and followed by 10 minutes of discussion. All presentations should be given either in English (recommended) or in Japanese. Since the number of slots for oral presentations is limited, some of the abstract may be accepted only for poster presentation.


Please submit an abstract (100 words/1600 characters MAX) to the IEICE Technical Committee online submission system.

*Please make sure you are submitting an abstract for “Waseda University, Nishi-Waseda Campus”to the Technical Committee on Thought and Language (TL).

*Please select your preference for presentation type (paper (oral) or poster).

*If you have command of Japanese, please use the Japanese submission site and submit the Japanese title and abstract as well as the English title and abstract.

*If you want to be considered for a special session with TCP, please specify your preference by adding "special session" at the end of abstract.

*Acceptance or rejection will be notified by the end of May.


CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS:

All presenters will be invited to submit a paper (up to 6 pages) to the proceedings to appear in The Technical Report of Language and Thought of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (circulates domestically in Japan). Deadline for manuscript submission is early July, 2016 (TBA).


The copyright of the proceedings papers will belong to the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, but it will not block your submitted work from being published elsewhere.
