Part 2

In part 2 of the movie, we see that more and more things in Pleasantville are changing.

Questions about Part 2:

  1. In the first part of the movie, we saw that David (as Bud) was trying not to change anything in Pleasantville, but in this part, we see that he has started to agree with Jennifer that there are some thing they should try to change. How does David try to change things?

  2. How do most of the teenagers react to the changes? What questions do they start asking David?

  3. When the T.V. man comes back, why does David turn the T.V. off?

  4. What kinds of things are the men at the bowling alley upset about?

  5. In the first part of the movie, it seemed that the colors were related to sex, but in this part we see that other kinds of events can cause people to change. When and why does Mary Sue become colored? How about Margaret Henderson? Bud? Bill Johnson?

  6. Who attends the two town meetings? What are some of the rules in the "Code of Conduct" announced at the second meeting?
